On December 3 2016, LIGHT in LIFE organised a fundraising event for the construction of 10 shelters for homeless people in India. The well known legendary Indian violinist, composer and music producer Balabhaskar, presented an unforgettable musical evening in Wiesendangen/ZH with his new “BIG BAND“. The dance group “Nachle Dance Company” from Zurich entertained the guests with various Indian dances. The South Indian restaurant “Kerala” also provided our audience with authentic South Indian delicacies.
Over 700 people attended the event. The event was a great success for us, in financial terms too. Instead of the planned 10 houses, with the proceeds and various sponsorship we were able to realise a total of 22 houses for needy people in India.
During this same event on 3rd December 2016, Mr. Gordie Manapparambil, treasurer of LIGHT in LIFE handed over a cheque for CHF 22’000 to Rev. Fr. Carlos Barowa of MSFS, Meghalaya, as financial aid for the construction of a school building in Meghalaya
